The Royal Bank of Canada says for the economic strength of the country, immigration must continue in full force

The country must focus on making sure immigrants continue to relocate to Canada, due to the fact that 30 percent of the overall population is 55 years of age or older. Only eight percent of immigrants are that age. Canada’s population saw a 1.6 percent increase in 2019, and immigration accounted for over 80 percent of the total increase. The University of Toronto reported without immigrants over the last 15 years, Canada would be on a similar path as 1990s Japan. Instead, with the robust immigration system, Canada is one of the youngest nations in the G7.

Andrew Agopsowicz, an RBC senior economist, said although there will be a shock from the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, it will not last. It is vital the country keeps a long-term focus on the Canadian immigration system, as newcomers are crucial for the country’s fiscal stability. He agrees restrictions are a necessary evil right now, but understands they are temporary. “We shouldn’t fall back into a world where we don’t encourage immigration as we have in the last few years,” Agopsowicz said. It would be dangerous for Canada’s long-term prospects to see a decline in immigration.

According to Jeffrey Reitz, the director of ethnic immigration and pluralism studies at the University of Toronto’s Munk School, Canada tops the list in believing immigration is a plus to their country. The results also prove Canada is not as polarized as other countries on immigration as every Canadian political party is on the same page with immigration. “Even those on our right are more positive about immigration than the left in many other countries,” Reitz said. Canada has many opportunities for newcomers to their country. Contact Canadian Visa Professionals for help with the immigration process. They will walk you through every step.

Over 65 percent of respondents living in Canada said newcomers make the nation stronger, and only 27 percent said they are a liability because they take social benefits and jobs, according to the report. Australia came in behind Canada where 64 percent of their residents favored immigration. Sweden and the United Kingdom followed with 62 percent of people viewing immigration as favorable. In Canada, 80 percent of those responding to the survey said newcomers are no more to blame for the crime in the country, and 65 percent don’t think that immigrants increase the risk of terrorism. Most countries, including Canada, believe any immigrant that is in their country illegally should be deported.

Over one-third of Canada’s 181,000 truck drivers are immigrants, and the majority of them are from India and speak Punjabi, according to Statistics Canada’s National Household Survey. A new organization, North American Punjabi Trucking Association, is proof of the group’s growing heft. Based in California, NAPTA trains new members on new technology and regulations, and also negotiates discounts on fuel, tires, and insurance, and pay rates. Canada is a very welcoming country to newcomers and provides them with many job opportunities. Canadian Visa Professionals has a team of experts ready to assist you and your family in relocating to Canada.

Co-founder of the association Raman Dhillon said good wages are one draw to the sector. A more experienced trucker can bring home over $100,000 yearly, he said. Another lure is the labor shortage and a low barrier to entry. By 2024, the trucking sector is predicted to be short 34,000 drivers. On-the-job independence and cultural factors play a part in the desire to be in this field, Dhillon said. “In Punjabi culture, trucking and driving is a passion. I drove with passion. I still love it,” he commented. “My dad did it. He started his driving career when he was 16.” Many truckers own their own rigs and operate as a small business under contract with a fleet. Dhillon said it is desirable to be working for yourself. “I think that brings a lot of people in,” he said.

When you are considering relocating to Canada, remember Canadian Visa Professionals will help you. They pride themselves in helping families from all around the world immigrate to Canada.

While Canada and the United States share a continent, there are many differences in the countries, especially in how they run their businesses. Here are five main ways in terms of how they differ, which send many people to Canadian Visa Professionals for help moving north.

They Work Less

There is a much shorter workweek in Canada than there is in America, with their residents working under 40 hours a week, compared to Americans averaging 47 hours.

They Enjoy More Breaks

In America it’s common for workers to feel like they can’t take breaks at work. People looking to move to Canada tell Canadian Visa Professionals that one of the main draws of moving is being able to take half-hour breaks every five hours.

They Get More Vacation

In the United States, it’s not required for companies to give their employees time off. Canada offers workers two weeks of paid time off when they have been with a company less than five years, and that increases to three weeks as soon as they celebrate their fifth year.

They Speak More French

In Quebec, employees can speak French without worrying about being told they need to be bilingual in English as well. Guests here are also serve in French if they so desire.

They Get More Maternity and Paternity Leave

Canada has mandated maternity leave, unlike the US, where it is up to the individual company. This ensures that new parents aren’t pressured to return to work too quickly. Canadian Visa Professionals report that this is a huge plus for people looking to move to Canada.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Canada is currently experiencing the highest number of open jobs in the private sector due to a shortage of skilled workers and the growth of the economy. The third quarter of 2017 saw over 361,000 open Canadian jobs. The experts at Canadian Visa Professionals are working hard with their customers to fill some of these empty positions.

A report from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business stated that Alberta had a vacancy rate of 2.2%, which increased 0.2% between the 2017 second and third quarter. This happened as the area recovered from a drop in the price of oil.

Alberta has a higher vacancy rate than Nova Scotia and Manitoba (both 2.1%) as well as Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and Labrador (all at 1.9%). Alberta has almost 34,000 private sector jobs currently available. The government hopes that these jobs will quickly be filled, in part by the experts at Canadian Visa Professionals.

While Alberta is suffering from a high vacancy rate, British Columbia had the highest that was measured by the report. Their vacancy rate was 3.4%, closely followed by both Quebec and Ontario (3.1% and 3.0% respectively). Most broad industry group ratings saw that their vacancy percentages went up during 2017’s third quarter. Retail, hospitality, and construction were the hardest hit with 50,000, 45,900, and 38,000 unfilled jobs respectively. With so many job openings, Canadian Visa Professionals are working hard to find employees who are the right fit.

This information was obtained from a survey of more than 2,000 random business owner-operator members of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. This group is the largest association of businesses with more than 109,000 members[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_basic_grid post_type=”post” max_items=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1519549922355-76db65a5-0385-8″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]December 12, 2017 will be a day that Rashid Ahmed will always remember, as it is the day that he became a Canadian citizen. Taking his oath of citizenship with 96 others during Canada 150 celebrations made the day especially meaningful for him. While his family was not able to be there to support him due to work, he felt like he was surrounded and celebrated by his Canadian family, many of whom may have been supported by Canadian Visa Professionals.

More than 78 thousand people took an oath of citizenship in Canada from the beginning of January to end of September in 2017, and almost three thousand are now living in Saskatchewan. The Canadian Visa Professionals help people from all over the world move to Canada. While there are new Canadian residents from all over the world, most are from the Philippines, China, and India.

Ahmed moved to Canada from Pakistan after feeling persecuted due to his religion. He was warmly greeted by the people living in Canada, one of whom has his uncle. He believes in Canada and the world working together to be at peace, and wants to be living in a country that embraces all people. Companies like Canadian Visa Professionals are a great way for people who want to move to Canada get the support they need to make this huge change.

While he is thrilled to be in Canada, he believes that he can do more than just simply sing its praises and bring the rest of his family with him. Part of his family – his parents and his sister – now live in Saskatoon with him. He works hard volunteering in the community alongside his new friends. On weekends and evenings during the week he is involved in the community, raising food for the hungry, helping at the university, and is part of various other campaigns.

He loves how Canada embraces diversity and multiculturalism and believes that he can still live out the values of his culture while in Canada without suffering persecution.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_basic_grid post_type=”post” max_items=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1517841256559-c6543485-fb7c-5″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
